Koala Bear Up an Electricity Pylon, With not a gumtree in sight, this koala took the next best option - a power pole 25km south of Gunnedah.

THE KOALA WHO WISHED HE WAS UP A GUM TREE
With not a gum tree in sight, this Koala has had to opt for the BEAR necessities in life - using a POWER POLE for a rest.
The sleepy male found itself out in the open while marking out its territory while looking for GIRLFRIENDS.
And with no gum trees for 20km in one direction and 6km in another, he was forced to scuttle up the 30ft pole carrying live electricity for a rest.
Wildlife expert Nancy Small from Waterways Wildlife Park in Gunnedah, NSW, said the koala was on a regular trip to mark out a circle and he would claim the female koalas inside.
"If you think it is out in the middle of nowhere, he knows where he is going. I know it doesn't sound feasible. But they do mark their territory looking for females," Ms Small said.
"I think you will find this koala will be fine, I have only heard of one being electrocuted and he was in a big power plant. They do travel, they travel from area to area, they can travel quite far and they go up into any tree or anything that's high and have a rest."
Ms Small said the koala could only hope he misses other angry males who cross his path.
"He is setting his groundwork up for breeding, there will be a lot of koalas travelling around here and they travel in circles and each circle takes in so many females," Ms Small said.
"He sets out his area for breeding time and he will mate with a female and move off into another tree," she explained.
